Starting November 1, 2024, the 2025 Canadian Women’s Heart Health Summit Planning Committee will be seeking submissions for the following opportunities:
1. Poster and Rapid Fire Oral Presentation Abstract Submissions
Accepted abstracts will be published in the April 2025 issue of the Canadian Journal of Cardiology. Awards for Best Poster and Best Oral Presentations will be provided at the closing remarks on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Please review the Abstract Submission Guidelines for more details.
*Trainees will be able to select whether they would like their abstract to be considered for the Trainee Award within the online abstract submission process.
Canadian Women’s Heart, Brain and Vascular Health Trainee Award
This award recognizes scientific merit and excellence in research design and performance, as well as the presentation of the research abstract by a resident, fellow, or graduate student in a training program. Trainees must be students enrolled full-time in a program of study (medical school, health professional school, graduate studies, residency, fellowship, etc).

- Notification to Applicants: January 31, 2025
2. Investigator Award Nominations
The 2025 Canadian Women’s Heart, Brain & Vascular Health Investigator Award recognizing contributions as an investigator for the heart, brain and/or vascular health of women in Canada, through advancing inquiry and knowledge of women-specific heart, brain and vascular health issues to ultimately reduce disease risk and premature death.
Important Dates:
- Call for Nominees Opens: November 1, 2024
- Deadline for Submissions: January 27, 2025, 11:59 p.m. EST
- Notification to Nominators: February 21, 2025
3. Advocacy Award Nominations
The 2025 Canadian Women’s Heart Health Advocacy Award recognizes the contributions of an individual or group working to improve the heart, brain and vascular health of women through advocacy, awareness, and support. It will recognize outstanding commitment in mobilizing women and health professionals to take heart health seriously and act to reduce women’s risk of heart, brain and vascular diseases.
